Here's the thing: gratitude isn't just for the good times. It's for the okay times and even the not-so-great times. It's for when you're feeling tired and not quite excited about life. Gratitude is for all seasons of your life.
Here are five simple ways I stay thankful:
Appreciate the little things:
Don't have to wait for something big to happen to be grateful. Take, for instance, recently, I was craving amala and gbegiri and I managed to prepare it; that seemingly small accomplishment filled my heart with happiness and brightened my entire week. Being grateful for small wins like that can make a big difference when you need a pick me up.
Keep a Journal:
Writing down your achievements and what's going on in your life can help you see all the things you should be grateful for. It is so easy for you to forget or gloss over so many details of your life, making it difficult to find what to be grateful for. But with journaling, you are more aware of your journey, and it helps you appreciate everything.
Share Your Wins:
When you're only sharing your wins with yourself, it’s easy to always say, "Oh well, that's done, onto the next thing." But sharing your wins with people who care about you and seeing the way that they celebrate makes you realize how big of a deal you are, and that makes you stay grateful.
Appreciate Others:
Appreciating others is also a way to stay grateful. Take a moment to appreciate the people in your life, the things they do for you, and their achievements. This not only helps you stay grateful but also strengthens your relationships.
Focus on the Bigger Picture:
Sometimes, it helps to step back and see things from a wider perspective. Challenges and setbacks are part of your journey, and they make you stronger and wiser. Remember that life is full of twists and turns, and they lead you to a better future.
Today, I am grateful for the opportunity to help you in exploring the beauty of a thankful heart.
Now, I'd like to hear from you: share one thing you are grateful for today.
Love & Light!
