“What would people think?”, “What would people say?” are enemies of progress!
The seeds of many fresh ideas and fantastic new products have been crushed under the weight of other people’s opinions… opinions that don’t matter in the grand scheme of things.
You fry chin-chin like a badass; everyone who has tasted it thinks it’s the best thing since Jollof. Friends come to yours on the weekend just to eat your chin-chin, your mother-in-law is a star in her women’s church group because of your chin-chin.
You’ve thought of packaging and selling this chin-chin as a side business, maybe even empowering others to be distributors of the product but you’re a banker and it won’t look good to be ‘Iya oni chin-chin’.
See, the chin-chin isn’t about you; it’s about us, your potential customers. Believe it or not, God loves us enough to be interested in the quality of the chin-chin we eat and because He cannot come and fry it Himself, He gave you the recipe. Also within this chin-chin recipe, He packaged your ‘breakthrough’ and eventually financial freedom... but because it doesn’t come with a big fancy title like ‘Consultant’ or ‘Life-Coach’ you look down it and can’t see beyond its seeming lowliness..
Repent, for another cometh after you with that same recipe, ready to commercialize it and make something big out of it. (Remember, God wants us to eat good chin-chin.. If you won’t cooperate, He will send another.)
Take stock of your skills and talents, find out which of them are good enough to be monetized, and market it.
Go and be great!
xoxo
